Lévis (QC), February 23, 2022 – BioTEPP is pleased to welcome Johanne Simard, agr. and Mélanie Gaudet to the international marketing and production team of Virosoft ™ CP4, a natural bio-insecticide used in fruit production for the control of codling moth and oriental fruit moth larvae.
As Field Product Development Manager, Ms. Simard will be primarily responsible for organizing and supporting BioTEPP’s sales efforts in the United States, where the company is already enjoying great success. A member of the Ordre des agronomes du Québec, she has solid knowledge of field crops and environmental issues. She notably worked for a major American company offering a diversified range of seeds and crop protection products. She holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from McGill University in Montreal.
“I am proud to join the BioTEPP team,” said Simard. “I look forward to the challenge that awaits me and I fully intend to contribute to the success of the company, particularly in the United States. Thanks to my 30 years experience in agriculture, I will be able to recognize and seize the opportunity to put forward BioTEPP’s technology. I am convinced that bio-insecticides are the way of the future for sustainable and environmentally sound agriculture.”
Ms. Gaudet has been appointed Facility Manager at the production plant, located in Cap-Chat, Quebec. With a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, she worked in a large international forest products company before joining the BioTEPP team.
“Taking over the management of a production unit with BioTEPP’s considerable level of talent is a task that appeals the most to me. I fully intend to devote myself to this with the help of the team,” she said.
Finally, Dr. Harnaivo Rasamimanana (PhD.), takes charge of the new laboratory located in Lévis (QC) where the company’s R&D work is carried out.
“I am happy to welcome these two new resources within the BioTEPP management team,” said Pierre Laborde, General Manager. “In addition to rejuvenating our team, they will both make an important contribution to our business as we expand our market share in the United States and in other countries. For his part, Dr Rasamimanana will continue his R&D work, leading in particular to the approval of a new formulation of our flagship product, Virosoft CP4.”
